The course follows a robust syllabus with specific objectives.

Students will learn how to play the game of Chess. With its emphasis on decision making, creative exploration and emotional resilience, chess complements the foundation of this program by engaging meaningful and holistic learning experience through hands-on, socially interactive, non-electronic gaming. Chess is a strong aid in the development of social emotional learning.

Course content addresses and supports learning on:

  • California Standards for Visual Arts,

    • Creating Anchor Standard 1, 2.1 and 2.2.
